1. The Wife of Bath would be an example of a feminist because she as a women wants or has total control over the man and thinks that men and women are equal to each other. The Wife of Bath takes feminism to a whole different level by using the men and believing she is more dominant than them.
2. Power, femininity, poverty, appearances, and old age would all fall into the theme of the Wife of Bath's tale. Power would be one of the themes because throughout most of the tale the Wife of Bath has the power of sexuality and of her appearances. She uses her good looks to get what she wants out of the men. When the Wife of Bath ages she realizes that its not all about power and control and that love conquers all in the end. She ultimately falls in love with her fifth husband who is the youngest and the most attractive out of her past husbands.
Everyone judges the Wife of Bath as a whore for having five husbands. There is no evidence that she killed them herself, so it appears as if she is just remarrying after they die. Nothing is wrong with a widow remarrying, however five times in one lifetime does not exist according to the bible. You marry and stay with who you choose the first time. The wife of bath does not agree with this. She even uses the bible to excuse her actions. She is allowed (by the bible) to have children to create more virgins in the world. So what she is trying to do is good. However she has yet to have a single child. Five husbands and no children. She is breaking the rules but using the rules to cover up her breaking them. She is an intelligent manipulator. She favors women's rights and will do anything to put herself above someone else.
The theme of the tale is that people held in a higher position among others, receive lighter punishments that others. The knight rapes a woman. That is illegal and knighthood is now looked at as shameful. His punishment is to be decapitated however he is given a way out. His challenge is to find what women truly want in the world. He comes across and old ugly woman that tells him an answer but he has to owe her something now. The knight tells the queen, who issued the challenge, and his life is spared. However he must now marry the ugly old woman. That is some sort of punishment right? Wrong. The woman claims he can have her old and faithful or beautiful and unfaithful. The knight tells her to decide herself. She decides to be beautiful and faithful. The knight committed a crime and was basically rewarded for it. He did not deserve to live or have this beautiful woman. Since he has friends in high places and is in a sort of high place himself, he is goes unpunished.
1. The Wife of Bath can be considered a feminist because she supports the equality of social standing with men and women. She actually can be considered more than a feminist because she thinks that women should be dominant over men.Three of her marriages she classifies as good because she was able to be as dominant if not more dominant than her husbands. She also makes women the focus of her stories in the tale and gives them the power to decide the man's fate. This favor toward women's social equality to men is what makes the Wife of Bath a feminist. 2. The theme of the tale would be that no matter the looks of the woman, a wife should be respected and obeyed by her husband. The theme is presented in two situations. When the knight is charged for rape, instead of choosing the penalty himself, the king has his wife choose. This displays that the king respects his beautiful wife's judgement and believes she is capable of creating a deserved punishment. Later in the tale, when the knight is proposed with the choice of a beautiful disloyal wife or an old faithful hag, he allows the woman to decide. This shows he has learned from his mistakes and uses what the old woman has taught him t o in return have a happy life. By respecting her judgement, the knight was able to please his wife and have a happy life with a beautiful faithful companion.
--- Throughout the Wife of Bath's prologue, one reason she can be considered a feminist is when she considered her last two husbands "bad", because they had control over her. The Wife of Bath likes to dominate her husbands and any way they would take control over her she did not like. Also, in the Wife of Bath's tale, when the Knight asks around to women about what they desire most, one reply stands out. The paragraph starts out by stating "some said our love to which we all aspire is to be free to do as we desire. With no reproof of vice but with the rule that men should say we're wise, not one a fool". Also, the Knight gives in to his new wife and allows her to pick his fate with her saying "I leave to your wise governance the measure". This lets us know that the Wife of Bath thinks women know best and should be respected just as much as men.
--- I think the theme of the tale is that women deserve to be respected and treated equally as men. Knighthood is criticized again in this tale. Even some knights do not realize that women want to be treated equal. This lesson is learned by the end of the tale. The lesson learned here is if we give women just as much respect as we do to men, you will be happier and better off because everything will be equal without power disputes.
1. The Wife of Bath can be viewed as a feminist. A feminist is someone who supports the rights and freedoms of women. The Wife of Bath takes a spin on what a feminist is usually thought of. She is a feminist in her own sort of way. The Wife of Bath knows exactly what she wants and how to get it. In several of her relationships she has had the control and was the dominate one. She enjoys having a sexual life as well. Her marriages provide her with all the sex that she wants. She is getting exactly what she wants from these men. She knows that sharing about her sexual life and marriage to many husbands is frowned upon, however she still continues to speak about it. This is why the Wife of Bath is a feminist.
2. The theme of the tale is that dominance will rule over and control a relationship. The Wife of Bath's prologue and tale are complete examples of this theme. The Wife of Bath has been involved in 5 marriages, 3 of which she was dominate. This making her control the entire relationship. She controlled the happiness, fighting, pleasure, everything there was she controlled. Her final two husbands reversed roles. They were the dominate ones. These men could beat her, but she still came back for more. Her tale eludes to this dominance with the queen in King Arthur's court. King Arthur listens to his wife on whether he, the King, should kill someone. This woman has dominance over her husband even though he is a king. When the Knight ventures to find what women really want, this old woman grows to have dominance over him and whether he lives or dies. Dominance is in every relationship and it is very clear in the Wife of Bath.
When a person is considered a feminist it usually means that the person is in favor of women's rights and equal opportunities for men and women. The Wife of Bath would be considered a feminist by showing that men are foolish as women have more power over them. The Wife of Bath is able to use her body to get her husbands to give her money and anything else she may desire. She said "They gave me so much of their treasury i didn't need to practice diligence to win their love or show them reverence. For they loved me so well, by God above, that i put little value in their love." She shows that women have an advantage over men and how they are cunning.
In the tale the Wife of Bath, the theme is that looks are valued over personality. When the knight was helped by the old women when she stepped in and saved his life she made a deal with him that she could marry him if she had the right answer. The knight was later disappointed with the deal that he made because he now realized he is stuck with an old women as a wife. When she asked him if he would like it more if she became youthful. He soon decided he didn't care but the old women knew looks were more important to him and her. Instead of being old and faithful she changed herself to young and good. Unlike most beautiful and young girls in the tale who would take advantage of their looks by betrading their loved ones, the old women remained by his side.
A feminist is a woman who fights for total equality among men. The wife of bath is a feminist because she rebels against the typical ideal of a woman. She is very blatant about sex and sexual encounters. Men would use money to attract women, she is using her sexuality to attract men to show her equality. She uses the sexuality to gain control over men like she did with her many husbands. Her gain was money and it was not just for love or being under the safety of a male. Her grip and use of men show that she could be wanting to return revenge for what they have done to her and level the field of equality and show superiority by doing what she pleases. Her use of the Bible and references shows that she is trying to be equal to a man. In the times of Canterbury Tales men would be very familiar with the Bible and try to use it accordingly just as the wife of bath does; although she does a mediocre job. A theme of the Tale is that a shallow individual cannot come to love anything besides superficial features. This theme means that an individual who cares about nothing but features and looks cannot have a true relationship with someone without those significant qualities. This is shown with how the knight acts towards the old woman he has married. Although she has saved his life he still cannot show her any gratitude. When they marry, he does nothing but complain like a child about her age and appearance. The old woman finally succumbs to his misery and finds a way to transform herself into a beautiful woman. She changes just so he could love her.
1. The Wife of Bath is a major Feminist. She wishes for women to enjoy the same types of rights men have at the time. She talks about how it is unfair that women can only marry once, and counters it with the fact that major biblical figures had multiple wives. She also claims women have power over men in relationships, and control men's bodies. This shows The Wife of Bath as a determined feminist trying to ensure a more open view of the role of women.
2. The Wife of Bath's tale's theme is that Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The Knight within the tale needed to find what women desire most. In his quest, he finds an old hag who promises she can give him the answer. The old hag does it, and in exchange the Knight is forced to marry her. The Knight protests, until the Hag gives him an ultimatum. She can be ugly but loyal, or shallow and beautiful. The Knight gives her the choice, as he feels its not his decision, nor does he care. His choice ensures he gets a beautiful and loyal wife. His protests over the Hag, and his option of freedom of choice for the Hag gave him the best option.
1. Feminists are women that are trying to prove that they should be equal to men. She is very open about her beliefs and doesn't go against them. She is acting just like a guy, sleeping with many people, so why is it wrong that she would do it. Everyone wants to get tries to get what they want, and she is succeeding in getting what she wants.
2. The theme is the way you treat others will come back to get you. In the story, the Wife of Bath marries a few older, richer gentlemen so that she could get their money. She would hold out on sexual favors till she got what she wanted, and then she would inherit what they had after they die. But later in the story, she would marry men that treated her very poorly. She was very rich because of all the money she got from her other marriages. The man she would fall in love with was just using her the same way that she used the other men.
1. I believe that The Wife of Bath is a strong woman who knows what she wants and exactly how to get it. In her time, women who depicted themselves similarly to how she does were not essentially accepted in society. However, she seems to be proud of who she is and how she acts. Therefore, I think that The Wife of Bath is a feminist. She is her own type of feminist. She is content with her sexuality and uses it to get what she desires. Chaucer portrays her quite promiscuous, however, she is in complete control of her own sexual exploits. The Wife of Bath's Prologue declares many things. It shows us this woman who is not only comfortable in her sexuality enough to speak about it, but she is also comfortable enough ask why she can’t have sex for pleasure rather than just reproduction. She is confident in her ability to use to obtain exactly what she wants. A lot people in her time, and even today, would frown upon this since she is “immoral”. However, I view her woman that is sincere about who she is while she keeps control of her own destiny. 2. The theme of The Wife of Bath’s Tale is that those with power can get what they want. The knight strips the woman of the power she had over her own body. As punishment, he must figure out what it is that women desire most. The answer turns out to be authority and power. His consequences are suitable to his crime because he has to yield the power over his own body to the queen and court, and also to the old woman he has to marry. Following the ominous beginning to the tale, power is entirely held by women. They administer punishment, justice, and compel the knight to go through with his promise to the old woman. However, at the end of the tale, power seems to shift back to men when the knight's wife gives him control. The Wife of Bath's closing can't quite restrain a feeling that, by the conclusion of the tale, power has returned to men, where it was initially abused at the start.
The philosophy of feminism is aimed at defending a variety of rights for women. In the story's case, the Wife of Bath attempts to justify her action to have a multitude of husbands while maintaining that she must have complete sovereignty over each. The Wife cites passages in the Bible and the obvious implications of reproductive organisms themselves to defend her belief that pleasure is not inherently bad. In the story, the typical gender roles of the time are reversed and ideals are shifted from virginity to the fulfillment of physical desires. Through a feminist lens, one can defend the Wife of Bath's actions by stating that at the time men could marry as many times as they liked, and that women deserved the same. The whole point of the Wife's story was to demonstrate everyone's innate desire to control what goes on in their life and their inherent right to do so.
The main theme found in the Wife of Bath is that the central reason people stay together is because of outward appearance. Physical attraction is more prominent and influential in reality than the romantic ideal of "internal beauty". We see this in the story because at the end, the old lady becomes young and beautiful, and the knight and her live happily afterwards. The woman may have been a loyal wife before, but the physical aspect of her transformation is what sealed the deal for the knight. Of course, all of this occurs under heavy satire of love, knighthood, royalty, and women and men's traditional roles in society in accordance with the church of the time.
The term feminist is a person who supports feminism. Feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of social, political, and economic equality to men. The Wife of Bath is a feminist because she was a strong confident woman who knew exactly what she wanted in life. She was able to become wealthy and independent which was against the social standards of that time. Women were expected to obey their husband in every fashion and she went against this by switching the roles. In her first three marriages, she controlled her husbands in every way. Her role in the relationships and her wealth shows social and economic equality to men which is what a feminist supports.
The theme the Wife of Bath displays in her tale is that women, whether they are ugly or beautiful, should always be obeyed by their husbands. She shows this when the old woman offers the knight the choice to have her look like she does and be loyal or have her be beautiful and unfaithful. He answers by giving her the opportunity to choose for herself. She then becomes young and beautiful. By giving the woman the choice and power, she became the perfect woman for the man. She believes that woman should have all the power in the relationship which is how she lived her own life.
The Wife of Bath is not so much a feminist as to wanting equality for women, but that she knows what she really wants in life, which is to marry and be fruitful. She does this by marrying five men, none of which she has children with. The Wife devotes her sexuality to all ages of men, mainly due to their wealth, except her fifth husband, who she married because she actually loved him. It is also clear that she is a feminist because of how she is open about having a history with so many men. This is different because women of the time period were not open with their sexuality, and it was frowned upon to be with multiple men. The Wife of Bath however is proud of her actions, and she claims that she will enjoy sleeping with as many men until she cannot anymore. The theme of the tale would be the importance of company. The Wife of Bath constantly needs men in her life to fulfill her sexual desires, which is why she goes to five different men during her life. Even while she is married, she still falls in love with another man, and goes to him immediately after her husband dies. In the tale, the knight is so in need of company that he rapes a young woman. When he needs to find the answer to what women really want in life to avoid being executed, he finds an old woman who gives him the answer, but they now have to get married. When given the choice to either have a young and beautiful wife who is unfaithful, or an old wife that was loving and faithful, he cannot come with a decision. Though he would love a young and beautiful wife, he would much rather have someone that loved him and was faithful. Because of his answer, the woman turns young and is also faithful.
1. Feminist is one who supports the rights and equality of women. The Wife of Bath is a tough woman who receives what she wants and she is not afraid to go out and get it. The Wife is her own type of feminist who does her own thing and supports it. When this poem was written, the women of society who portrayed themselves openly like she does were not generally welcomed to humanity. She uses her promiscuousness to obtain what she wishes. Chaucer satirizes her in a way to make her licentious. She takes pride in which she is however and knows that she has control over what she does. In the Wife of Bath’s prologue, she is not only acts in a dissolute way but she asks why she can only have sex for reproduction rather than only for pleasure. When she states this in the prologue, it shows how comfortable she is with herself and her body. The Wife of Bath is a confident lady even though she might be too comfortable with some things others can say. People today and in her time would think these actions and beliefs are immorally wrong however she is a strong woman who knows what she wants and is not intimidated by anyone who is willing to change her. 2. The theme of The Wife of Bath’s Tale is women have more control in a relationship than they acquire credit for. The tale begins with the sexual assault of a woman and the rest of it envisions a world in which women are superior. As said by the lady, women have power over men’s bodies and the world is one that women want. “What is it that women really desire?” is the question that is focused around the whole poem. At the end of the tale, the lady gives power back to her husband regardless of his eagerness to award it to her. Even today, women play a dominant figure in their relationship and have more say than they did in the past.
The Wife of Bath is a feminist in both her prologue and tale as she fights for her own equal rights within the house and marriage. She believes she is the one who controls her own sexual relations and that cannot be tamed by any man stating "For I'll bestow the flower of my life, in all the acts and fruits of being a wife". She also refuses to fully serve her husbands for the purpose of proving that she should not be putt on a lower class than men.
The theme of the tale is that you should be careful of what you do in your youth because it may haunt you in your old age. The Wife is a gold digger in the beginning only marrying for money and as she ages she loses her extravagant looks with her age and the sins she committed then become a burden on her life as a young man marries her for her money.
---The term feminism means to have equal rights for women. During the time of the wife's tale there was a huge difference between men and women. The wife of bath is a feminist for the time because she behaves as men do and would be shunned for the time. Yet she really doesn't care because she is doing what she want to do and believes its right. --- The theme of the tale is women are just as manipulative as men. When the knight met the old women the knight at first would not love her because she was not beautiful. So she started telling him how she could be either loyal or beautiful to get him to love her. Then after she got what she wanted, only then did she become beautiful because she already had what she wanted.
A feminist is someone who supports the equal rights or treatment of women. The Wife of Bath thoroughly displays feminism in both her prologue and her tale by giving the women power over their men. In the prologue, she explains how in her first three marriages, she took control of her men and they became submissive to her beauty. In her tale, the old woman took authorit over the knight and forced him to obey her in order to get saved and rewarded. In both her prologue and her tale, the men were no longer superior to the women. This is an expression of feminism, and the equal or better treatment of women over men.
A theme that is present in the Wife of Bath's tale is that women want superior power over their male counterpart. The knight surrenders to the ugly woman because she tells him she can save him. And after he is saved, she makes him make the decision of whether he wants a beautiful wife or an ugly one, and he gives her the final choice. In the end, the old woman gained complete power over her husband.
1) A feminist is someone who supports the rights and equality of women. The Wife of Bath is an extreme feminist because she believes that women are superior to men. Throughout the prologue and the story the Wife explains that her first three husbands were "good". She says this because they were older than she was and they were wealthy and her beauty was so stunning that they would do anything for her and obey her commands. In her eyes, she was more than equal to her first three husbands. She describes her last two husbands as "bad" because they were younger than her and more full of life. She has always believed that she was the more powerful, more beautiful person out of any couple, but her last two husbands made her feel inferior.
2) Wife of Bath's theme is similar to question one because it has to do with power. The only thing the Wife wanted was power. She was married five times in her life and she was happiest with her first three husbands because she had all of the say-so. During the marriages of her last two husbands she realizes that she is no longer superior to those men because of her age and beauty. The combination of power, age and beauty is still seen today. Women or men that are stunningly attractive feel that they are superior to other people and have more power, but in reality that is not true. People need to be strong on the inside as well and that is something that the Wife (nor people in the real world) understand.
1. A feminist is someone who supports the equal rights or treatment of women. The Wife of Bath thoroughly displays feminism in both her prologue and her tale by giving the women power. In the prologue, she explains how in her first marriages, she took control of her men and they became addicted to her beauty. In her tale, the old woman took control over the knight and forced him to obey her in order to get saved and rewarded. In both her prologue and her tale, the men were no longer superior to the women.
2. A theme that is present in the Wife of Bath's tale is that women want superior power over their male counterpart. The knight surrenders to the ugly woman because she tells him she can save him. And after he is saved, she makes him make the decision of whether he wants a beautiful wife or an ugly one. It turned that the old woman gained complete power over her husband.
1.) The Wife of Bath is considered a Feminist. She wants women to have the same types of rights men have. She said it's unfair for women to only be allowed to get married to a man once. She also say women have dominate power over men. It shows the wife of bath as a feminist proving her point.
2.) The Wife of Bath's tale's theme is Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The Knight needed to find what women want most in a relationship or man. He found a women who told him that she can give him a answer to his question. She lied and the knight is forced to marry her. The Knight denies her, until she gives him another choice to take. She can be ugly but faithful, or rude and pretty. He chose to get a beautiful and trustworthy wife. This way he ended up with an okay deal.
Women have been fighting for their freedoms and inalienable rights for centuries, and have been treated unequivocally by men, society, and culture itself. Feminism has developed as a means for women to expound upon their rights, and to make known their strife and efforts to reach and equal stance as human beings. Feminists are defined as one that "advocates or supports the rights and equality of women," according to Wikipedia. Feminist movements over the past decades have argued gender inequality in regard to women's social roles and sexuality, wishing to garner control over these factors that previously lie in the hands of society or men above them. They see their rights similarly to slaved men, in a way, as they, too, were long deprived of their rights socially and politically. It was not long ago, one must remember, that women finally achieved the right to vote. A significant component of the nature of the Wife of Bath's feminist characteristics is her argument in regard to sexuality, a point that has been often fought by feminists long after her. Feminists believe that women deserve a right to their sexuality, reproduction, and any contraceptives. For one, the Wife of Bath argues for the beginning of the Prologue that if men are entitled to "all his wives," then, "God be blest that I have married fiver," by which she is attempting to justify her sleeping around and duping them for their material possessions. Not to say that feminists whole heartedly endorse this behavior, although it is worthy of note that feminists are split in regard to modern forms of sexuality as a product (for one hand, it is a method of freedom of sexual possession). Moreover, she argues that it is okay for women to have sex with whom ever they desire; after all, what else are reproductive organs for? She throws the bible in your face, all the while misinterpreting and skewing its meaning. For example, starting on line 115 of the Prologue, she says, "And tell me for what reason, if you can, were organs made for reproducing man, who's made in such a wise and perfect way? They were not made for nothing, safe to say." She endeavors to have complete sexual control and dominance, also in her relationships, by way of her extreme feminist inquisitions. Further, she says in line 149, "In wifehood I will use my instrument as freely as my maker has it sent...As long as I continue as his wife: For I will have the power all my life over his body, I and never he." What more needs to be said? She is the absolute embodiment of extreme feminism. However, she is distorting the meanings and what the movement of women stands for for her own justification. Not to mention, she is distorting religion for her own immoral, whorish purposes. She wishes to have complete dominance over her husbands, to pound them into complete submission if it should allude to her extreme feminist ideals. Therefore, a prominent theme in "The Wife of Bath" would be that sexuality is often a means to exercise a sense of sovereignty over one's mate. The tale itself is an ode to this theme, as it aims to create a world in which women blur the lines of justice and commend the submission of men by their means. Men tend to fall for the alluring behavior of women, which is why it works and becomes a sash upon their shoulders. Yet, it all comes full circle in the end, and it begs the question once more as to what women, and even men, truly desire? There is more to relationships and life than sexuality, yet it is an endorsement by many to make it seem that it is the prime component of life. This tale supports the theme by the manner in which Chaucer takes shots at both men and women, accusing women of playing men by their sexual prowess, and accusing men of giving in to those desires.
1. Feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men. The Wife is more than a feminist because she thinks the woman should be more powerful in a relationship, not just equal. She classifies her first three marriages as good because she was in control of her husbands. She also focuses mainly on women in her narrative, showing her feminist beliefs. 2. The theme of the tale would be that no matter what of a wife, she should be greatly respected by her husband. The theme is presented in two places. When the knight is charged for rape, instead of choosing the penalty himself, the king has his wife choose the punishment. This displays that the king respects his beautiful wife's judgement and believes she is capable of creating a deserved punishment. It also shows that the nobles have this fair mindset, and that the peasantry should follow in their footsteps, a radical idea for the time. Later in the tale, when the knight is proposed with the choice of a beautiful disloyal wife or an old faithful hag, he allows the woman to decide. This shows he has learned from his mistakes and uses what the old woman has taught him to in return have a happy life. By respecting her judgement, the knight was able to please his wife and have a happy life with a beautiful faithful companion.
A feminist is a women who believes they women have just as many rights if not more than men. The wife of bath showed that she was feminist because she thought that women should be able to control the men. She married men that were older and had money to get there money when they died. She would control the men when she married then and got all there money when they died. Her last two husbands did not let her control them because she was older than them and they were younger than them. She controlled the relationship when she was younger, but when she was older she got controlled.
My theme for the wife of bath is people aren't always who we expect them to be. The wife of bath only married the older men because she wanted there money. She used her beautiful body to bring in older money with money. With her body she would be in charge of the relationship and get as much money as she wanted. When she got older she was not as happy because the younger guys she had were trying to control her and take the money she had off of her.
- I believe the wife of bath is a feminist on account of her thinking that women are the ones that should hold all power and not let a man have any decision. She believes that in a relationship, the women is the one that decides everything and that the man has no say so at all. An example of how she thinks this is how she described a only few of her marriages to be good, considering that she held dominance over the man. In her story also, she described the women in it being powerful and the ones that punish and judge. - I believe the theme of this story is how some people can want dominance in a relationship. The wife of baths tale is a prime example of this. The wife of bath showed feminism throughout her entire story, especially with relationships. Her view of a relationship is with a women that controls her man, containing all the decision.
1. The Wife of Bath would be an example of a feminist because she as a women wants or has total control over the man and thinks that men and women are equal to each other. The Wife of Bath takes feminism to a whole different level by using the men and believing she is more dominant than them.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteThe theme of the tale is that people held in a higher position among others, receive lighter punishments that others.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDelete--- I think the theme of the tale is that women deserve to be respected and treated equally as men.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteIn the tale the Wife of Bath, the theme is that looks are valued over personality.
ReplyDeleteA theme of the Tale is that a shallow individual cannot come to love anything besides superficial features.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteThe main theme found in the Wife of Bath is that the central reason people stay together is because of outward appearance.
ReplyDeleteThe theme the Wife of Bath displays in her tale is that women, whether they are ugly or beautiful, should always be obeyed by their husbands.
ReplyDeleteThe theme of the tale would be the importance of company.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteThe theme of the tale is that you should be careful of what you do in your youth because it may haunt you in your old age.
ReplyDelete--- The theme of the tale is women are just as manipulative as men.
ReplyDeleteA theme that is present in the Wife of Bath's tale is that women want superior power over their male counterpart.
ReplyDelete2) Wife of Bath's theme is similar to question one because it has to do with power.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDelete2.) The Wife of Bath's tale's theme is Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
ReplyDeleteFeminists are defined as one that "advocates or supports the rights and equality of women," according to Wikipedia.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteMy theme for the wife of bath is people aren't always who we expect them to be.
ReplyDelete- I believe the theme of this story is how some people can want dominance in a relationship. The wife of baths tale is a prime example of this. The wife of bath showed feminism throughout her entire story, especially with relationships. Her view of a relationship is with a women that controls her man, containing all the decision.
